Official Trailer for Arcade Junkie, Rise of the Piolts.
Releasing August. 2013.
Works on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
We’ve been busy (the good kind) making a very fun and challenging game and are about ready to launch it. Our new game will be called “Arcade Junkie Rise of the Pilots“.
The game is based on some of our favorite arcade games of the past like Xevious and Galaga. Click here to read an earlier post about the game’s influences: http://rocketpopgames.com/rocketpop-games-working-on-new-mobile-arcade-game/
An alien invasion had taken over the City of Metropolis (as seen in Jetpack Junkie). The Recon Runners successfully mapped out the captured city. Seven Lee and a few others reached the perimeter of the alien’s stronghold.
In this follow-up game, take control of the newest and most powerful weapon in the resistance’s arsenal. A new breed of helicopter called “DECH” (duranium enforced combat helicopter), equipped for duty with upgradeable full spread photons and AGM’s (air-to-ground missiles).
It’s the Rise of the Pilots! The resistance begins Phase 2 “Clear Skies”.
Here are a few development screenshots from Arcade Junkie, we look forward to releasing it:
Other than some minor game polish and game-play tweaks the game is ready to go. More to come!
Co-Founder RocketPop Games
During design, we created some early quick enemy scripts for our upcoming game- Helicopter Junkie. The trick is to not make it to hard, but keep the action moving. Later, we added in the photon fire-power and air-to-land missile systems “power-ups” for the Helicopter and went back in to tweaked all this several times- Enjoy!
Helicopter Junkie has several different enemies:
Imperial Fighter squadron, contains 8+ fighters with high precision flying skills.
Snake Fighter Group:
Imperial Guard squadron, capable of staying in pattern while attacking, fast moving
Shielded fighter drones, high speed, comes in groups
Intelligent fighter drones, sweeps in, fast moving
Land based air-to-ground missile compounds
Large bombers, heavy armor, slow moving, fires high powered matter bursts
Imperial Bomber Squadrons, heavily armored, heavy weapons, protected by Imperial Fighters
Large orbiting wall sections, impervious to weapon fire
